Bouteloua curtipendula (Sideoats Grama)

Spikes of purple-tinged blooms emerge on arching stems above foliage of slender blue-grey leaf blades and form a dense clump. The foliage turns golden brown, at times shades of orange and red, when the cooler weather arrives.
