Echinacea purpurea Doubledecker (Coneflower)

Magenta petals surround a large  dark brown centre cone and grow tall above deep green foliage. Shorted petals will grow out and up from the centre cone; most flowers will grow a second bloom at the top in the second year of growth. Rapid growth rate.

Use as cut or dried flowers. Be sure to keep some flowers in the garden over winter, as the blackened seedheads provide cold-season garden interest, as well as food for finches and other winter birds.
