Hosta Royal Standard

These shade-loving, rhizomatous, clump-forming perennials bear wavy, pointed green leaves. White bell-shaped flowers bloom on one-sided racemes atop tall bracted scapes. Fast growth rate. Seedling of ‘plantaginea‘.

Fun Fact: ‘Royal Standard‘ was the first hosta to given a patent, in 1963. (Plant patents only last 17 years, so the patent expired in 1980.)
