These shade-loving, rhizomatous, clump-forming perennials bear dark green margins that enclose a centre that seems to be ever-changing; it’s creamy white with slight green veining in spring, light green in summer, then finally dark green in late summer. The leaves stand upright in a wavy mound. Lavender bell-shaped flowers bloom on one-sided racemes atop tall bracted scapes. Rapid growth rate.
